The
study examines the relationship between education spending and economic growth
in Turkey. The ARDL Boundary Test method was used in the study covering the
period of 1991-2016. Granger causality analysis revealed that there is a
one-way Granger causality from short and long term educational expenditures to
economic growth. For this reason, the study supports the hypothesis that
educated investments increase economic growth.
Çalışma Türkiye'deki eğitim harcamaları ve ekonomik büyüme
arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektedir. 1991-2016 dönemini kapsayan çalışmada ARDL
Sınır Testi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Granger nedensellik analizi soncunda kısa
ve uzun dönemde eğitim harcamalardan ekonomik büyümeye doğru tek yönlü bir
Granger nedensellik olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu nedenle çalışma eğitime
yapılan yatırımların ekonomik büyümeyi artırdığı hipotezini desteklemektedir.
