Yeni medya ve sağlık ilişkisi

Öz

Bu çalışmada, internet teknolojilerinin yayılması ve dijital araçların gelişmesiyle birlikte yeni bir kavram olarak karşımıza çıkan yeni medyanın sağlık ile ilişkisi incelenmektedir. İletişim teknolojilerinin küçülerek mobil hale gelmesiyle birlikte kullanıcılar yeni medyayı, her alanda olduğu gibi sağlık alanında da bir başvuru kaynağı olarak kullanmaktadır. Yeni medyanın kapsamında olan sosyal medya ağları, mobil uygulamalar, bloglar ve sözlükler birçok kullanıcı tarafından güvenilir kaynaklar olarak görülse de birçok kullanıcı için uygun bir başvuru kaynağı değildir. İçerik üreticilerinin, blog yazarlarının, sosyal medya fenomenlerinin, sağlık uzmanlarının ve markaların sağlıkla ilgili tavsiyelerini, fikirlerini, egzersiz ve diyet programlarını takip eden kullanıcılar kendilerine kişiselleştirilmiş bir ortam hazırlamaktadırlar. Çalışmada, kullanıcıların yeni medyayı sağlığın hangi alanları için kullandıkları ve güvenilir bulup bulmadıkları ölçülerek, katılımcıların %47,9’unun kararsız olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
