Fitness facilities offer many services to people in different ways. These generally include services to be healthy and stay fit. In the management of fitness centers, there are some standards and guidelines that fitness facilities must comply with in order to ensure that members do not experience any health risks and receive services in a safe environment. Common point of some large and small fitness facilities is the lack of knowledge and practice regarding safe service delivery in the fitness industry. The aim of this study is to examine safe exercise procedures and demonstrate industry standards and guidelines to reduce injury or death incidents in fitness centers. We conducted a systematic electronic search for articles published from 1966 to early 2021 using the electronic journal database EBSCO, Elsevier and PubMed on the keywords Fitness Facility, Safe Exercise and Injury Prevention. As a result, a fitness facility should have some standards such as Orientation and Health Screening, Professional Trainers, Equipment, Warning Signs in the facilities in order to prevent injury and death risks and provide a safe exercise environment, and the necessity of additional standards in the Covid-19 pandemic in the near future.
