Investigation of Factors Affecting Student/Institutional Satisfaction In Vocational Education Practice (An Evaluation Based Research On The BVT 3+1 System)

Abstract

With this study, the changes in the application systems of vocational schools in Turkey in the last ten years were investigated. By scanning the national and international literature, studies on student/institution satisfaction were examined and variables affecting student satisfaction in higher education institutions were determined. As a result of the literature, it has been seen that students have problems being employed after graduation and gaining sufficient professional and technical knowledge because vocational schools do not sufficiently support theoretical knowledge with applied training. In order to solve the problem, in recent years, a new applied education model, "3+1 Vocational Education Application in Business Administration (VEE)", has started to be used as a pilot study in some vocational schools and has been successful. The student, who took theoretical courses at school for three semesters with the VEE application, participated in the VEE application in the business for one semester. This study aimed to measure the satisfaction levels of Inonu University OIZ Vocational School students/institutions with the VEE application model, which has been in use for about four years. During the 2021-2022 fall and spring education period of Inonu University OIZ Vocational School, a face-to-face survey method was applied to a total of 460 people, including 230 students and 230 business managers. Data entries of the surveys were made with the SPSS 26 program, participants' satisfaction with the VEE application was examined, and suggestions were made to improve student/enterprise satisfaction levels. In the study, it was seen that satisfaction with the VEE application had a high impact on employment. It is seen that students' satisfaction with the VEE application has a 98% positive impact on their acceptance of the job offer.
