Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of Batman University on economy of Batman in terms of direct, i ndirect and induced income and employment. For this purpose, local income and employment impacts are analyzed statistically and econometrically by using the data set obtained from surveys and official statistics belonging to the academic year of 2012-2013. Marginal propensity to consume which is critical factor in the determining of induced impact is determined by employing cointegration test and Vector Error Correction (VEC) model for the period of 1987-2012. According to the analysis results, the impacts on local income and employment of Batman University are positive, and induced total impact of University is greater than it’s total direct and indirect impacts.
