Peer Review Process

The aim of peer review process is to ensure that high quality and original scientific studies are published. All published articles in Sosyal Mucit Academic Review Journal are peer reviewed and all manuscripts submitted follows the procedure outlined below.

Initial Manuscript Evaluation

The Editor and Editorial Board firstly evaluate all manuscripts submitted for publication in Journal. Manuscripts that are considered outside the aims and scope of the journal or is not enough for requirements of a scientific study are rejected or may be required some revisions at this initial stage. Editor without a referee report will never accept manuscripts, at this early stage.

Reviewer Evaluation

Sosyal Mucit Academic Review Journal operates the article evaluation process with “double blind” review policy. This means that the referees of the article will not get to know the identity of the author(s), and the author(s) will not get to know the identity of the referee.

After initial evaluation, editor and/or editorial board sends the manuscripts to two or more referees who are determined. The reviewers are chosen from reviewer database based on their expertise.

Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript’s originality, methodology, contribution to the literature, presentation of results and support for the conclusions, and appropriate referencing of previous relevant studies. Reviewers might accept the manuscript, reject the manuscript or might require a revision for style and/or content. For publication of articles, two positive reports are required.

When the reviewer or reviewers require a revision, the author(s) should consider the criticisms and suggestions offered by the reviewers. The author(s) should provide the revised version of manuscript in 30 days. Manuscripts that are not accepted for publication are not re-sent to their authors.

Final Evaluation

After favorable opinions of reviewers, the editor conducts final evaluation. The articles accepted for publication by the editor are placed in an issue sequence.

Time Length of Peer Review Process

Sosyal Mucit Academic Review Journal aims to complete the all peer review process within 8 weeks (56 days) after submission (one week for initial evaluation, 6 weeks for referee evaluation and one week for final evaluation). The author(s) that submit an article to the Sosyal Mucit Academic Review Journal consider accepting of these peer review conditions and procedures.
